Be Separate Sunday, February 21, 2016
Huh? What's that supposed to mean? The phrase is about as foreign to some Christians as what it means.
Tonight in youth, we made a "concoction" of sorts. I poured chocolate milk in a glass and then poured in a Red Bull. After some suds and bubbles, it basically separated into 3 parts. Chocolate stuff, semi clear stuff, and some stuff on top that looked like cement.
That's what we are supposed to do as Christians - separate from the world. When we trust Christ as our Savior and become His child...we are supposed to act like it. (Really? Who knew).
We don't go to the same movies as the world. We don't listen to the same songs as the world. Our tv and computer viewing is different. We don't let the world squeeze us into it's mold. (See Romans 12:2)
Do the people at your school / work know you are a Christian? Is there a difference in your life since trusting Jesus? Are you growing closer to Him?
II Corinthians (or Two Corinthians for Donald T fans) says "come out from among them and be separate". "Don't touch the unclean thing".
Ask God to help you examine your life. See what needs changing and see what needs eliminated. Let's be a good example of Jesus for the world to see!
