I Lost My "Head"   Sunday, September 27, 2015

I'm always up for a new recipe I might enjoy.  I saw one on youtube and thought I'd give it a whirl.  Bought a "head" of cabbage.  Quartered it, buttered it up with butter (of course), added some other seasonings.  Oh, before that, I preheated my toaster oven.

It was a busy day.  I had lots going on.  The instructions called for 1 hour in the oven.  The hour had passed.  I was all set to enjoy my delicacy.  I opened the oven door and...no one was home.  I had forgotten to put the cabbage in the oven.

What happened?  It was as if I went through the motions of fixing supper but never really committed to it.  I just went through the motions.

​

There are a lot of people going through the Christian motions.  They attend church, some drop in and some regularly, know the words, can say a prayer, give, etc.  But they have never placed their trust in the Lord Jesus.

​

Still others, who are children of God, loose their first love of Christ and just journey through their life not really loving God and enjoying His friendship He longs for us to experience. 

​

Why not examine your life right now.  Are you "playing Christian"?  Are you just going through the motions?

​

My supper was not to be had because I went through the motions and didn't really cook supper.  Don't get to the end of your life and discover that you've been missing out.
