Long and Lost   Sunday, February 13, 2013

What's long and lost and fairly inexpensive to replace?  A broom.  After taking a borrowed broom to keep on the bus I use, I continued my search for my own personal broom.  How can one loose a broom?  They are pretty hard to conceal.

After weeks of looking and the dirt was piling up, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase another one.  I went to Wallyworld, bought my prize sweeping device and headed home.  I opened the car door and before I even stepped out of my car, my eyes met my old broom sitting there on the deck.  Only me!!!

What's long and lost and easy yet hard to replace?  Your first love for Jesus Christ.  The book of revelation shares this with a church.  It was a church that had lost it's first love.

Does that describe you?  Have you lost your passion for the One who has a passion for you?  Here's the remedy.  Revelation 2:5 "5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works".  Dime store translation, "remember who you were, a sinner separated from God, remember what happened, you trusted Jesus to forgive you, and come back to Him.  Remember how you got your first love in the first place.

Hey, don't be satisfied with just existing through life.  Love the Lord with all you have.  We love Him because He first loved us.

Have an awesome week!
