Silent Praise Sunday, October 21, 2012

Just got through with the Teen Fall Retreat. We had a blast. As is the tradition with the fall retreat, I'm about to loose my voice. Must have been the 5 minute warning from Pig In A Poke.

Got to thinking that I can't praise God much with my voice right now. Guess I'll just have to do it with my heart. Oh, but that's what God wants in the first place, isn't it? I know I've shared at campfires that God enjoys my singing, though most others view my song as a weapon of mass destruction. (Hehe, spell checker suggested distraction which is true as well). :) But God loves to hear us sing.

But more than that, He wants to hear our hearts. More important that dry, ritualistic songs and "words" of praise is the attitude of our hearts. He cares what we are thinking, not how we sound (or in my case if I can sound). We can stand, sit, sing and pray in church, mouth the words, etc. But if it's just empty words...well, that's all it is. Praise God with your heart this week. Share the love of Christ through your very life. That's the kind of praise He desires.
