I was writing with a felt tip marker tonight and noticed that I had a black spot on my finger. Upon further investigation, I saw that the marker had "sprung a leak". Now, my trash can is the proud owner of a felt tip marker.

 

My marker stained my finger. It will be a day or two until it goes away. Reminds me of another stain. God warns us to stay away from sin. He doesn't do it to ruin our fun or to be a killjoy. He warns us because He loves us. Sin will stain our lives. God says to lay aside every weight and sin which so easily beset us. (Hebrews 12:1). The "weight" is the stuff that's not necessarily wrong, but it slows us down in walking with our Lord. The sin, well, it's just sin. Because of His love for us, He says to stay way from that stuff. He knows it will stain our lives. He knows the hurt it will bring. He knows the pain it will cause us and Him. He wants you to be walking with Him. HE WANTS YOU! This week why not realize how much He cares for you and love Him back. That will be the motivation to stay away from sin.
