Long, Hard Week Sunday, August 28, 2011
I just put in an exhausting week at the fair. As I write this, I'm half asleep. It's hard work eating cotton candy and riding rides. Actually, that's not what I was doing. I was painting faces and trying to get kids and parents interested in coming to camp, along with a bit of Gospel magic.
All that work to boost camp attendance? Not hardly. If it was just that, I would have skipped out. I was there to see kids and teens choose to love Jesus. I want them to come to camp to hear of Christ and His love, and then respond to Him.
This week was preceded by setting up our booth and followed today by trying to teach Sunday School and two youth group lessons while, shall we say, sleep walking.
Why am I knocking myself out? Sometimes I seriously ask that. But I desire to see everyone God brings into my life become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
That brings me to the close of this evening and typing this to YOU. Are you that fully devoted follower? Are you loving the Lord? What if everyone reading this decided to follow Jesus unconditionally this week...what would happen? I dare say our nation would change in a week and it would make the news.
So why not? Why not love Jesus this week, and the rest of your life. Even if our world doesn't change one bit, you will be close to your Creator!
