Dirty Dishes  Sunday, August 23, 2009

Once again it was my turn to tackle the mid sink at camp. The group was here at we had some delicious meals. Of course, then there was the clean up. Couldn't leave the dirty dishes lying around. Somebody had to wash them and today, one of those somebodies was me.

 

When we make a mess in the kitchen, we need to clean it up. When we make a mess in our lives, the same holds true. Sin is a mess. Sin breaks the very heart of our God. And sin needs cleaned up. If you are a Christian, I John 1:9 is an awesome verse. "If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Simply put, we confess and God cleans up the mess.

 

Of course if you aren't a Christian, clean up's a breeze too! Jesus offers forgiveness and a relationship with Him as a free gift. It's your's just for the asking. Once clean, we need to strive to stay clean. Live for Christ. And the secret to that is to love Him.
