Friday the 13th. It's this Friday. And I am so not looking forward to it. It has nothing to do with superstition. I'm actually looking forward to a ministry opportunity I have on March 13th, also a Friday. It has to do with what I'm doing this Friday. I know it has to be done. But with fear and trepidation, I will approach the dentist office Friday morning. And he, with sharp instruments in hand, will proceed to cut out my bad tooth.

 

However, in a way, I am looking forward to it as well. Not the procedure, but to the relief of daily tooth pain I've been having lately. I'll be glad to see the bad tooth go. Just like the "dentist knows best" with my teeth, God knows best for our lives. Many times we pray and God answers NO. And many times we just don't understand. That's because we are focusing on "our" picture and God is focusing on the big picture.

 

This Friday, I'm gonna try and focus on the big picture of relief. Let's focus on trusting God in our prayer life. Trust Him to do the right thing, which, if we are loving and serving Him, He has promised to work it out for our good. Got some unanswered prayers or answers that you don't like? Trust God.

 

And, if you find some time Friday, PRAY FOR ME. I really don't like dentists!

 

(I mean - I REALLY DON'T LIKE DENTISTS)!!!
