It Made Her Cry  Sunday, January 25, 2009

I have been thinking of how to write this all day. Not sure how it's gonna come out but here goes.

I told my youth group that our subject today was not a fun one but a very serious one. The subject of abortion. I explained what abortion was. In simple terms, it's killing a baby before it has been born. We then watched some short videos showing pictures of babies, before and after birth.

One young 11 year old girl, who is usually bouncing off the walls with energy and fun, leaned on her friend and cried as she thought of these children's lives ending. She understood. It hurt me to share the information with them. But I knew it was a message that needed to be shared. Especially since this month is the anniversary, (that's such a bad term for it) of the legalization of abortion in this county. I, as well as God, wanted them to know what it is and that it is wrong.

I also shared with them that our new President, not in office a full week, has signed his name allowing MY tax dollars to help fund abortion internationally. My youth group was hurt over the harm to these innocent and defenseless babies. An eleven year old cried because of our country legally allowing this practice. If an eleven year old can understand the horror of this, why, my politician friends can't you - well - are you smarter than a 5th grader?

Pray for our country. Pray for the unborn. Pray that God would change the minds of the lawmakers and we would see and end to this murder.

One final thought. Some friends of mine just lost their baby this month, four weeks after conception. They were heart broken. Because of health reasons, they induced labor. The picture they took of "little Jeremiah" shows how perfectly formed his body was at just four weeks.

How can our country kill these little ones? PRAY! Psalm 139:13-16 Read It!
