Red Light, Green Light! Sunday, March 12, 2006
Don't know what God will ask when I get to Heaven but if He asks how I spent my time on earth, I'll have to answer that the majority of my time was spent waiting at red lights! I heard someone give a stat that the average person will spend 6 months of his life at a red light. Not sure, but I think I've already far surpassed that!!!
Sometimes I'm in a hurry, going to teach God's Word at a school, or doing something for my ministry. I get stopped at each and every red light known to man. I pray, "What's the deal God! I'm doing this for you"! And then I'm reminded...
The Bible says that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. It all comes down to a matter of trust. Do we trust God that He is actually in control, even of the red lights?
I challenge you, (and me), that when you come to a red light, either actual or symbolic, in your life, realize that if you are serving Jesus, there are no mistakes. He directs your steps. He guides us. He even orchestrates those pesky lights.
Next time you get slowed down in life, thank God for taking charge and even being so kind do slow you down. Remember that He is in control and He is a trustworthy God. And if you're like me, there's plenty of prayer time at the good ole red lights.
