My Promise To You!   Sunday, September 15, 2002

Ok, so I'm cruising up I-81 and listening to my SCC cd. I hit the very 

last song of the cd which is "Carry You To Jesus" and I thought, "Wow, 

that's what I want to say to the teens that God has brought into my 

life". 

​

 

The song is about praying for others. And that's my promise to you. I 

want to uphold you in prayer this school year. 

​

I will not pretend to feel the pain you're going through 

I know I cannot comprehend the hurt you've known 

And I used to think it matered if I understood 

But now I just don't know

As you have started school, mission field yet battlefield, I am here. I 

may not understand what you're going through, in school or elsewhere, 

but I can pray.

Well, I'll admit sometimes I still wish I knew what to say 

And I keep looking for a way to fix it all 

But we know we're at the mercy of God's higher ways 

And our ways are so small

Sometimes I just don't know what to say to some of the needs you face. 

I'd love to wave a magic wand and fix everything for you. But I can't 

so.........

And I guess if I had written the song, (which I sure wish I had), these

It's such a privilege for me to give this gift to you
