A Final Fair Story   Monday, August 26, 2002

"I'll be back...I'm taking a break". I walked out of our booth, tired from painting faces at the fair. As I cruised around the grounds, I ended up in one of my favorite break places...AN AIR CONDITIONED BUILDING! I was looking around at the different displays and I saw two kids looking as well. They were so involved at looking at the displays, that they lost track of their Dad. Then, for a brief moment, I saw a look of unmistaken terror in the eyes of one, and then both of the kids as the younger one said, "WHERE'S DAD"???  The kid's father was only 5 feet away but was out of the line of sight of both kids. After a moment of frantic looking, they saw their father and were immediately relieved of their panic.

I thought about that incident and considered our relationship to our Heavenly Daddy. How do we react when we are away from Him? It should be the same reaction of panic, terror, and desire to get back together.

Do we love our God, trust Him, and rely on Him in the same way these kids did with their earthly father? We should.

Back at the booth I saw another little kid running and crying from one end of the hallway to the other, until he reached the arms of his family.

If you have strayed out of sight of our Heavenly Father, remember, He didn't move...you did. He is waiting for you to come RUNNING back to Him. Don't be satisfied with the cheap imitations and displays that Satan offers. When we give our attention to Satan's "wares", we loose sight of what our Father wants, and we loose sight of Him.

Don't loose sight of your Heavenly Daddy!
