It's six a.m. and the fire's burning 

And it seems that I'm the only one up 

Well, I'll just sit here and think while I wait 

And remember the meaning of this day 

 

And it just hurts me to think 

Of the people that never heard the story 

Never learned the meaning of this day 

Of how our Savior came on this very special day 

And this would be the day to remember Him 

 

Wouldn't it be a shame if this was just another day 

No one took the time to speak of His name 

No one told the story of how our Savior came 

And that this would be the day of Christ's birthday 

Christ's birthday 

 

And I sit and think back on how it must have been 

To have been there on that day in Bethlehem 

And what it must have been like to have looked at Jesus 

To know that this was God's Son 

 

Wouldn't it be a shame if this was just another day
